“We can’t do collections in online services”
10-11-2020

Online services have been the norm for the last six months and in the many conversations we have with church leaders, we have heard many of them say that they have dropped the giving moment as they couldn’t see how it would work in an online service. This was confirmed by our intensive research and analysis of online services of all kinds of churches. Online church services being so different is a big challenge and presents many obstacles to overcome so we fully appreciate that the giving moment has been one of the elements which has been difficult to envisage, like communion or other physical customs.
We imagine part of this issue is awareness of the options you have to enable it and part is the challenge in visualising doing all the different parts of the traditional church service in a new medium. The churches who have adapted to being online well have been able to utilise all the options available and keep a consistency in their regular approach to the service, updated to work with the latest technology.
Givt can help. We make it possible for your congregation to give, in the moment, during online services. Givt means that the collection is one of the physical customs you don’t need to lose. We will help you learn how to communicate an online collection and provide all the resources you need to make it clear for your congregation that this will continue to be an important part of the service.
