Discovering who you can give to

8 november 2021

We have 100’s of different churches and charities that are available to give to in the app! In addition to the option to set recurring gifts to your church, we have made it possible to give a one-off or recurring donation to new charities and churches using our ‘Discover’ function.

You can either look through the list of churches and charities, or type in the name of a specific church or charity you want to give to. Once you’ve selected your chosen church or charity, you simply choose the amount you want to give, and donate to them!

The first steps have now been taken!

Ultimately, we want us to meet all your giving needs, which are different for everyone. We want to offer you a complete giving solution that you can use in all situations. So whether you want to make a recurring donation, participate in a sponsorship, or make a small gesture, we have big plans!

Why did we choose this?

We spoke with many of our users to determine which functionalities should be prioritised- the option to ‘Discover’ new churches and charities, or select your church when you are not at the churches location was important to the user. One of the important steps towards realising our plans is that we make it possible for you to first choose the organisation you want to give to and then determine how much you want to give. This may seem like a simple adjustment, but such an adjustment takes a lot more effort than you might expect!  We made sure that this option is available to you, our users, in an intuitive, safe and simple way, so that your giving is personal to you.

How does it work?

When you open the app, you’ll notice that there are two buttons at the top of the screen: ‘Give’ and ‘Discover.’ If you choose the discovery environment, you will be given the opportunity to first choose a party and then decide how much you want to give. Choosing the recipient first feels more logical when you are not at a location and it is therefore obvious who you want to give to. The current way you use the Givt app will remain the same. You don’t have to use this option, but you can, of course!

Whilst we already have many churches and charities ready to give to in the Givt app, we’d like to know, do you have suggestions on which organisations to add to the app that aren’t already there?

Just let us know if there is a church or charity that you’d like to give to, and we will endeavour to put them in the Givt app!
